Fryshuset partners with Armenian Progressive Youth to empower young people.
In a significant step toward supporting youth empowerment, Frishuset has entered into a partnership agreement with the Armenian Progressive Youth (APY). Our strategic collaboration, initiated in 2019, has now been solidified with a commitment to further expand and develop our cooperation, with the aim of bringing about systemic change for youth in Armenia and beyond.
The partnership between Frishuset and APY is founded on shared values and a common vision. Both organizations specialize in meaningful youth projects and youth-driven initiatives that focus on inclusion, talent development, and community contributions.
One of the key achievements of our collaboration is the establishment of the Alternative Youth Centre in Yerevan, Armenia’s capital, in 2022. This center has evolved into a central hub for youth activities, drawing approximately 1,000 young people annually. It offers a wide range of cost-free activities, courses, and educational programs in alignment with Frishuset’s values and goals, with a particular emphasis on youth employment, social and economic engagement, and youth involvement in climate and sustainability issues.
APY contributes its expertise to the partnership in areas such as active citizenship education, youth economic empowerment, active participation, and civic education. Their specific focus lies in the inclusion of NEET (not in education, employment, or training) youth, marginalized young people, and rural youth, promoting educational and intercultural exchanges between Armenian and EU youth.
Our partnership is dedicated to providing a secure space for young people to meet, learn, and grow, as exemplified by the Alternative Youth Centre in Yerevan. Together, Frishuset and APY are working on long-term strategies for systemic change in youth empowerment, both locally and globally. We aim to magnify our positive impact by fostering active citizenship, youth participation, and personal and professional growth through non-formal education and volunteering programs, promising a brighter future for youth in Armenia and beyond.
