Do you feel that you as a girl have the same possibilities as boys?

“No. You have to always work harder than boys to reach your dreams”

Last year Fryshuset and Backa Systerskapet together with our partner organization Hope Raisers held a 5-day BACKA training for girls in Korogocho, Nairobi. During our sessions 20 young girls shared their thoughts and perspective on equality. Girls do not feel that they have the same possibilities as boys, they do not feel as empowered nor supported in their achievements or dreams. They shared and talked about the many challenges girls faces both at home and in our society.

Today on the #internationaldayofthegirl we want to take the moment to tell young girls around the world that their time is now. We need to empower all girls to raise their voices, claim their space and follow their dreams.
