Ukraine Community Builders Block 3: Standing for Rights - Ethnic, Roma, and Queer Youth
On 22–23 August, Ukraine Community Builders gathered for the third block of the programme “Standing for Rights: Ethnic, Roma, and Queer Youth” in Chernivtsi, Ukraine. This time, the programme focused on equality and discrimination in youth work, exploring ways of working with the topic of stereotypes using short videos and learning how to counter hate speech.
Participants were also introduced to online learning tools addressing issues of discrimination, diversity, and inclusion, such as the platform “Stories that moves” and conducted a field trip, learning about the history and cultural background of the city of Chernivtsi.
Furthermore, on 21 August, Fryshuset participated in the 8th International Forum on Inclusivity in Chernivtsi, hosted by Zahyst, by contributing to a panel discussion on how partnerships can foster openness, sustainability, and unity in societies. The forum brought together a diverse range of stakeholders, including UCB participants, to explore ways of improving accessibility and inclusion, tackle discrimination, learn about existing tools and practices to face these issues, and support communities in building long-term resilience.
